Lincoln Hunt Saboteurs have been caught red-handed spreading an outrageous lie. The sab group has been forced to backtrack on a wild claim that Neil Burton had executed his own hounds and fed them to the rest of the pack.
The shocking accusation was plastered across their Facebook page on 31 October 2024, no doubt intended to stir up outrage among their followers. However, they’ve now admitted they have no evidence that this ever happened. How embarrassing.

The sabs now ‘make it clear’ that they have no proof Mr Burton has ever done such a thing. They’ll be taking the post down after a month, but the internet never forgets.

If they’re happy to throw out unverified horror stories about hound cannibalism, what else are they making up? Conveniently, they’re also currently running a GoFundMe page for a ‘smashed windscreen’ - which we’re apparently meant to take their word for. Not surprisingly, this particular story just happens to involve raising cash.
This isn’t the first time sabs have been caught lying to suit their own ends. In 2022, Mark Ferguson, a former joint master of the Pytchley with Woodland Hunt, was convicted of assault, only for the decision to be overturned in 2024 when the judge concluded that it was actually the hunt saboteurs who had been the aggressors. The court found the saboteur’s claims “inaccurate” and accused them of “gilding the lily”.

Even more egregiously, in 2018 West Midlands Hunt Sab David Graham was convicted of perverting the course of justice after he tampered with video footage to make it look like he was assaulted multiple times. The judge was clear: this was a serious crime, one that nearly landed Graham in prison.
Graham's deception didn't stop there. After being caught doctoring footage, he and fellow sab Cathy Scott had the audacity to set up a GoGetFunding page to make the public pay for his crimes. Another example of sabs using a false pretext to get money.
