Behind The Masks can exclusively reveal that a member of the East Yorkshire Coast Hunt Sabs has been arrested and questioned by the police following an incident with a member of the Derwent Hunt on Saturday.
Mark Fothergill was arrested by North Yorkshire Police on suspicion of assault. He has since been released without charge, pending further investigation.
A video of the alleged assault has been made available to BTM. It depicts a masked man believed to be Fothergill attacking a mounted rider and grabbing a phone from their hands while they are still recording.
When the rider approaches Fothergill to retrieve his phone, the sab threatens “I’d stay f*cking back if I was you, you c*nt”.
“Come at me with that and I’ll kill you,” he adds.
The huntsman quickly reported the incident to North Yorkshire Police who are now investigating.
The incident occurred during a meeting of the Derwent Hunt near Wykeham Abbey in North Yorkshire. BTM urges anyone with knowledge of the incident to contact the police.
