Violent assault and intimidation: In January 2019, 67-year-old Judge Mark Davies, formerly of the First-tier Tribunal and Chairman of the Barlow Hunt, was assaulted by Austin Jordan and his sidekick, Wiilliam Robinson.
Mr. Davies and his wife Joan Williams, a former superintendent of South Yorkshire police, had turned off an electric fence at Highlightely Farm to allow the Barlow Hunt safe passage. Whilst turning the fence back on they were approached by four saboteurs. Mr and Mrs Davies asked the group to leave as they were trespassing on private property and could well be arrested. Jordan and Robinson assaulted Mr. Davies, leaving him with blood across his face from a cut lip and a swollen nose. Jordan had hit him across the face with a metal spray bottle, causing serious injury.

In a sick twist of fate, Mr. Davies was the one who ended up in court on charges of assault in July of that year. The district Judge, Andrew Davison, upon acquitting Mr. Davies said:
“An important evidential case is the evidence of [Davies’s] good character. This is a man with no previous convictions, and a practitioner of upholding criminal law. Suffice to say he has demonstrated 67 years of positive character within the community.”
It is clear to see, as Mr. Davies himself told the court, that the sabs are “anarchists” who have “no interest in animals whatsoever.” They had turned up to the scene of the assault wearing black clothing, dark hoodies and covering their faces with masks. Mr. Davies wept in court, describing the sabs as “class warriors” out to intimidate “good, decent people”. Their core aim is to intimidate and be violent. “That’s why they wear masks and hoods.”
This, more than anything that Behind the Masks has seen so far, demonstrates the sabs’ thuggish, ruthless behaviour, that goes against all of the ideals of modern Britain.
In December of the same year, Jordan was seen carrying an unidentified object behind his back whilst walking towards a hunt member at Willow Farm, Skirpenbeck. Given his assault of Judge Davies, it is likely he could’ve used the object as a harmful weapon – Jordan is clearly still out to harm and intimidate members of the public.
